Mark Bloemberg, PT, BI-D

Mark Bloemberg has been in private practice in Zwanenburg, Netherlands since January 1, 1994—initially as a manual therapist and, since 1998, as a manual visceral therapist. Alongside his clinical work, Mark is also an experienced instructor, teaching a wide range of courses in this specialised treatment approach.

After completing a four-year physiotherapy degree at SAFA in Amsterdam, Mark quickly realised he wanted to deepen his skills and broaden his therapeutic options. This led him to pursue part-time training in Manual Therapy, where, after four years, he earned his formal certification as a therapist in 1993.

Yet even with this advanced training, Mark felt something was missing. In 1996, he began studying Manual Visceral Therapy and CranioSacral Therapy—a pivotal step that transformed his practice. Visceral therapy resonated deeply with him because of its holistic perspective, addressing muscles and joints and internal organs, nerves, the cranium, blood vessels, and even the emotional patterns held within the body.

In 2000, Mark began teaching Manual Visceral Therapy and expanded his teaching portfolio to more than 15 courses across the Netherlands and abroad. Many of these programs were developed by Jean-Pierre Barral, the founder of visceral therapy, with whom Mark trained extensively as an assistant before receiving permission to teach independently. Mark also developed and teaches his own course in Manual Visceral Therapy for Children, sharing his expertise in anatomy, physiology, and hands-on techniques for treating babies and children.
